Tiny Skillet was our selection person this week and she chose granitas. I made the strawberry one. I did not add vodka and I did not make the syrup with the balsamic to pour over it because that sounded just awful to me! I thought this was going to be easy to make, but I have to admit that the time scraping with a fork was truly a pain in the butt! The granita was tasty though- kind of like shave ice or a popsicle or sorbet. Something I have never had before. Definitely refreshing a light. This was fun to try.

I loved mine, I made it with plenty of plum flavor. I didn’t scrape mine I just stirred it up every 30 or 40 minutes or when I thought about it, and then scooped it out with a ice cream scoop. I liked the texture just fine…I do have a shave ice machine and this has a lot more flavor. I like that this doesn’t need as much sugar as a sorbet. I’m glad you liked it!

With the little I had left I too stirred mine too. I love too that we all tried something different. I don’t think I would have added the balsamic vinegar – it would have ruined the pretty red/pink colour!
I still haven’t made mine yet. Yours looks very yummy. I love the color too!
