Martha Mondays: Panna Cotta
Posted by in FoodI’ve never made panna cotta before, so thanks Megan at Megan’s Cookin’ for picking this week’s choice!
This was surprisingly easy to make. Essentially you’re just heating up milk and cream and softening the gelatin, then mixing together. It really was amazingly easy. The sauce was simple too. The only tricky part was getting them to come out of the molds, which took a lot of dunking in hot water. But they all did eventually come out and they looked cute.
It tastes kind of like a pudding. I wasn’t a big fan, but I’m not big on plain vanilla things. Mr. MarthaAndMe and Teen Martha really liked this a lot. Dude Martha did not care for it – he doesn’t like gelatin-y things. I would call this a success. Simple, tasty and pretty. Very nice! I can’t wait to hear how others made out with this one.

I’m glad it was considered a success! It looks perfect and very elegant.
Mine is in the fridge right now. We have been out of town so I just made it and I’m serving it tonight. Better late then never. Now you know why I picked an easy recipe. 😉
Since your not a plain vanilla type, you’ll have to try a flavored version someday. Or a different sauce, like a berry one. Mmm, wouldn’t that be good! 🙂
Mine’s in the fridge now too. But I’m serving it tomorrow night to guests. I admit I’m changing mine up a bit, adding vanilla to the panna cotta itself and serving it with maple blueberries. I’ll let you know what we think.
That sounds yummy. This recipe seems like it could be adapted lots of different ways. I would definitely be interested if it was chocolate!
Yes, definitely. This could be dressed up lots of ways.
I quite liked mine. We scoffed it quickly, and it sure was easy to make. I think next time I would serve mine with berries. My results are up: http://www.perfectingpru.wordpress.com.
I’m glad you enjoyed it. I agree about the berries – that would definitely dress it up.
love this dessert and glad to hear it’s simple to make.
will add it to the repertoire.
Definitely!
I have finally posted my results. Sorry it took me so long!
