Double Chocolate Brownies
Posted by in FoodSomeone please help. I’m being held hostage by Martha’s double chocolate brownies, from April Living. OMG these are SO good. They’re evil. Melt 8 oz bittersweet chocolate with a stick of butter (I did it in the microwave, heck on that double boiler insanity). Then whisk in 1 1/2 cups sugar and 3 eggs. Fold in 1/2 cup and 2 tbsp flour and 1/4 cup cocoa and 1/2 tsp salt. That’s it! Bake at 350 for 20 minutes and then prepare to get out the fat pants. This is deep, rich, moist, crunchy at the edges and simply heaven.

wow….I think it’s all the butter and sugar, and so little flour, that make this so dense and rich. I am going to try it!
I’m a big fan of gooey brownies. These indeed look deadly. It’s no wonder you feel like a hostage. If you stop posting, we’ll send help.
I made them already. Deadly is right! They are delicious. Beware!
Oh, so you have the fat pants out too! Glad I’m not alone. This is a sneaky little recipe, isn’t it?
Holy moly, I shouldn’t see things like this first thing in the morning. It is making my insulin spike just looking at it!
Wow, no melted chocolate? This is the easiest brownie recipe I’ve seen!!
Yes – there is melted chocolate. I melted it in the microwave with the butter. Super simple
Too easy (and very dangerous). I must try these!
Oh my gosh. These sound amazing!! I’m scared to try this recipe, because it could lead to my downfall.
I just made these brownies after your rave review!
I had completely missed the recipe in the magazine.
The great news is they are as easy and as fantastic as your wrote.. thanks!!
I’m glad you enjoyed them! And please offer my apologies to your hips. My expanded after eating these, so I imagine the same fate will befall anyone who makes them.
I’m with you–with a little patience there’s no need to use a double boiler to melt the chocolate. Oh, this looks SO good. I’m trying out brownies this week too. I picked up a healthy version–it’s got a puree of spinach and blueberries in it. I’m interested to see how it goes.
That sounds really interesting! I’ve made No Pudge brand which is made with yogurt.
I made another Martha Stewart double chocolate brownie recipe, almost identical to this one. But my brownies keep hardening after a couple of hours. I’ve made the recipe twice, with the same results and I can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong. I’m following everything exactly the way the recipe says. I stumbled into this other brownie recipe and I’m wondering if you have any suggestions?
I would bake them for less time and see what happens. Usually the less you bake brownies, the softer they are.
