Martha Mondays: Glittered Pumpkins
Posted by in CraftsMegan’s Cookin’ chose glittered pumpkins for today. My project was pretty much doomed from the start. I didn’t have a pumpkin left from Halloween. My grocery store did not have any. We got one from my mom, but it was rotting inside, so the stem came off. Oy. We also tried to do this in the doorway of the garage and the wind kept blowing the glitter away. It wasn’t pretty, but it got done.
It doesn’t look half bad in the picture. Megan told me she was going to try glittering some other things for this, which I think would be cute. I thought about doing some apples, but ended up just sticking with the pumpkin.
Did you try this?

I loved this project. And I usually hate crafts. But out came the Martha glitter, and the mantle at home is now full of glittered pumpkins and gourds. I think I may have the glitter bug! My post is up: http://www.perfectingpru.wordpress.com.
Maybe it might be worth doing a smaller pumpkin or gourd and glittering inside over some paper. The cleanup wasn’t too bad at home.
Sorry your project was doomed from the beginning. I did mini pumpkins and could still find them after Halloween. I loved this craft and will probably do it every year and expand on it. I’m thinking a glittery pinecone banner to hang! 🙂

Glitter apples would be really pretty in my kitchen, I think. My colors are red and black.
I had a problem with rotten pumpkins too! But I finally found a pumpkin in the store and got mine done.
